The Museum at the Portage is maintained by the Portage Historical Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the city and surrounding areas. Your gift of sponsorship in the Portage Historical Society will ensure that future generations will learn about Portage’s remarkable past. Membership at any level includes a newsletter, invitation to member-only events and annual meeting. Based on membership level, members receive a discount on store items and genealogy research. The important benefit is knowing that YOUR contribution will help maintain our organization. If you want to contribute your time, we welcome your participation in planning and preparing exhibits, organizing our collection of artifacts, and helping with special events.

Donations
If you are interested in donating an item to our collection, we encourage you to come on Fridays when our Curator is at the museum. If you’re unable to come on a Friday, please email us at museumattheportage@gmail.com and your email will be forwarded to our Curator. For all large items, please contact the Curator before bringing the item to the museum. Thank you!
